Major: Environmental Studies and Anthropology

I am currently a science communicator for the Climate Program Office at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors—hiking, biking, and just exploring new places! 

Favorite Professors and Class

All of the ENV and ANT faculty were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. One of my favorite classes was Climate Change with Dr. Fox, because it opened my eyes to the intricate connections that make our planet run. I also really enjoyed Ethnographic Methods with Dr. Lampman, who really makes Anthropology come alive :)

Let’s Hear It for the Liberal Arts

WC shaped how I view the world and my place in it. The interdisciplinary, hands-on nature of the curriculum allowed me to make connections and gain a more holistic understanding of certain subjects than could ever be gleaned from a textbook alone. As a result, I feel fully prepared to take on my future, wherever it may take me.

Advice

Take advantage of the opportunities offered at WC, whether it be fun, recreational things like the Student Events Board events or brushing up on your professional skills with Career Services. You only get four years of undergrad—make the most of them!
