Country Music Star Lee Brice Comes to Washington College
Free concert rocked the Campus Green to the delight of students and alumni.

The Washington College campus resonated with the sounds of country music on Saturday, April 5, as award-winning mainstream country music star Lee Brice performed a special private concert on the Campus Green. The free event drew a large crowd of students, faculty, staff, and alumni for an enjoyable afternoon of live music.
Brice, known for his popular hits such as “Hard to Love,” “Love Like Crazy,” “I Drive Your Truck,” and “I Don't Dance,” delivered an energetic set that had many in the audience singing along. The Campus Green was transformed into an open-air concert venue, with attendees arriving early after the gates opened at 4:00 PM to secure their spots.
The event offered more than just music, with local food trucks providing a variety of options, along with nonalcoholic drinks and a beer truck for those over 21. The pleasant spring weather contributed to a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, reflecting the strong sense of community often seen at Washington College events.
For many students, the concert offered a welcome break and a chance to spend time
with friends as the semester progresses. Seniors Halina Saydam '25, Kaitlin Osucha '25, and Lucy Verlaque '25 were among those enjoying the performance
together. Saydam commented on the diverse crowd, noting she "appreciate(d) the varied
groups of people here," from students and faculty/staff to alumni and community members,
adding that it was a great opportunity for "good friends and good food." Osucha echoed
the positive sentiment, remarking on the good friends, good beer, good company, good
weather, and how the event “was a chance to break out my cowboy boots."
The concert is just one of the many vibrant experiences that make up student life here at Washington College including annual events like Shorefest, campus picnics, Birthday Ball, War on the Shore, and more.
